Chocolate Popcorn

So I thought I was brilliant the other night when I wanted popcorn for our movie night and thought, "hey, what about CHOCOLATE popcorn?"

Turns out someone else already came up with the idea. Darn.

But hey, that left me with plenty of recipes to find on the Internet and play around with :) I used this one here, and substituted agave for the brown sugar since I thought I didn't have any. I did, and just found that out after I went and bought more. Oh well. The agave worked fine, and probably for the better since it was just sweet enough. Next time, though, brown sugar it is!

Oh boy, peeps. I'm warning you. This is some killer popcorn. Throw portion control out the window on this one because, well...you just can't stop eating this. It's that good.

Here's what you need. All that and a bag of popcorn (hee hee), too :)

Melt the butter, agave, and cocoa powder over low heat, and stir it all together.

Once it starts to boil, remove from the heat and stir in the baking soda.

Pour over your popped popcorn,

and mix it all togetha!

Spread on a cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes, stirring halfway. It will get nice and crispy and the chocolate will harden. It's almost like chocolate-flavored caramel corn, without the caramel.

YUM! Happy snacking!
